The poster session, held in conjuction with the evening social, is one of the highlights of the conference. This friendly competition showcases hardcopy posters from GIS practitioners throughout the State. If you are using computer-mapping technology in real-world applications, this is your chance to show off your tremendous work and possibly win. Entries are prioritized for North Carolina government agencies, academic institutions and non-profit organizations.
We’re still working out the details but here are the general rules. Only one entry per person. Only one entry per organization on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional entries from the same organization will be accepted if space remains available after the submission deadline.
The GIS Certification Institute (GISCI) offers both education and contribution points toward a GISP for attendance and other involvement in the NC GIS Conference. For initial GISP Certification, a conference poster is worth 1 contribution point. For renewal of your GISP, a conference poster is worth 3 contribution points. For more information on GISP credits, please see the application at the GISCI website.
