  • Who should attend?

    Professionals, managers, and students who are involved in data analytics, data collection, mapping or projects that contain a geospatial component.

  • Why should I register early?

    The registration fee for the full conference is $350 until January 23rd, 2023. Beginning January 24th, the rate will increase to $425. Daily registration rates are $200 and $300 respectively.

  • What forms of payment are accepted?

    Payments made by check must be postmarked by January 20th, 2023 to secure the regular registration rate. Your outstanding balance will automatically increase to the standard registration rate after January 20, 2023. Please make the check payable to “NC DIT” and mail the payment to “PO Box 17209, Raleigh, NC 27619-7209” with a copy of the registration form showing attendee’s information.

    State employees using “NCFS” in NCAS, please e-mail a copy of the registration form for each attendee to Attn: Shavonte' Bennett, at DITAccountsReceivable@nc.gov. You can use vendor ID 562032825 03 or your agency's valid ID for NC DIT Payments. If you have any questions, please contact Shavonte' Bennett at 919-268-0844.

  • Can I register on site?

    Yes, but you get the best value by registering in advance. However, if you need to register on-site just come to the registration desk inside the Benton Convention Center.

  • Can I come for just one day?

    Yes! Although we would love for you to join us for the entire event, single day registration is available. You may register in advance (best value) or on-site at the registration desk.

  • Can I get a refund?

    We hope you will be able to join us for our first in person conference since 2019. However, we understand things come up. Full refunds will be available if made by January 13th, 2023. A 50% refund will be given for cancellations made before February 4th, 2023. No refunds will be given after February 4th, 2023.

  • Where can I park?

    Parking is available via the Embassy Suites, Marriott & the Sixth Cherry/Trade Street Parking Deck via climate controlled walkways. Hotel parking rates are $25 (valet) or $20 (self) per night. Public parking is also available. Rates are $1 per hour or $9 per day for these locations.

  • What is the conference hotel?

    NCGIS2023 has partnered with the Winston-Salem Marriott to offer discounted rooms to attendees. The conference rate is $179 per night (ends 02/07/23). Regular room rates will be charged starting February 8th, 2023. There is an additional parking charge of $25 (valet) or $20 (self) per night.

  • What is there to do near the convention center?

    Downtown Winston-Salem continues to experience a resurgence in activity. There are multiple options for dining, entertainment, and nightlife within easy walking distance of the convention center. See all the options.

  • Can I get PDU's for attending the conference?

    Yes, you may receive APA, PMA, or GISP credits for attending NCGIS2023. Attendance certificates (digital) will be made available for download shortly after the conclusion of the conference.

    APA:
    Credits may be awarded by visiting the APA website (https://planning.org).

    GISP:
    Credits may be obtained per the documentation requirements of GISCI. Additional credits are also available by entering the poster contest.

    PMA:
    Property mappers can also obtain credits for attending the conference.

  • What meals will be provided?

    Wednesday: lunch, breaks
    Thursday: breakfast, lunch, breaks
    Friday: breakfast, break

  • Will there be bacon?

    It's back! Nothing has ever been more popular in all our years of running the conference. There is NO WAY we could leave it off the menu for 2023. Enjoy!

  • Is there a discounted rate for speakers?

    Yes, the speaker rate for the full conference is $250. The daily rate is $200. There is no late fee for speaker rates.

  • Is there a special rate for students?

    Yes, students may attend the full conference for $150. The daily rate is $75.

  • Can I download an agenda?

    Yes, we understand that sometimes, you just want to fold it up and stick in your pocket. Download .pdf
